Who will benefit from this course?

The course is aimed at those working in the provision of wheelchair seating who wish to refresh or develop their background knowledge in Pressure Care and Postural Management: Occupational Therapists, OT Assistants and Occupational Therapy students, Rehab Engineers and Equipment prescribers.

What will be covered?

This course covers the basic principles of pressure ulcer prevention, postural management and cushion and backrest selection. On completing the course, attendees will be able to explain the key mechanisms behind pressure injury development; evaluate a wheelchair cushion in relation to pressure, shear, posture and ride comfort; recognise common postural problems and identify appropriate seating products to support or correct these positions.
