Dementia presents a complex set of considerations that need to be respected when creating health equipment that enhances the independence of people living with dementia.
Our engineers apply dementia-ready design logic to our assistive technology, including wheelchairs, walking aids, and medication dispensing equipment, ensuring solutions remain practical and reassuring as needs change over time.
By providing intuitive options for both individuals and carers, we support continued participation in meaningful daily activities, fostering social connection, autonomy, and enjoyment within family and community life.
Below are examples of how our products are engineered to support those living with dementia:
Electric Lift Recline Chairs
Our recliners are paired with Simplified Handset options with intuitive controls which help people living with dementia access and utilise their lift recline chair independently as their needs change.
Using slow, controlled movement at the top and bottom end of movement, people living with dementia feel supported and safe throughout the lift.

Wheelchairs
The Aspire VIDA Wheelchair design has implemented visual contrast and low-glare finishes to the seat and frame, to assist those living with dementia to identify and access the seat.

Soft lighting and low levels of noise reduces anxiety for people living with dementia. The Comfimotion bed operation features low-level noise outputs, and an underbed halo light and illuminated handset enable users and carers to easily access and interact with the bed and its functions.
Ultra-low bed height also assists people with dementia to get into and out of the bed with minimal effort required, accommodating to their changing physical and cognitive needs.
